Marija Marković is a designer from Croatia, from the small town of Postira on the island of Brač. In 2020, she completed her MA in Industrial Design at Zagreb’s School of Design. After graduating, Marija returned to Postira and founded Bahuja. The beauty of nature, the colors of the sky, and sunsets dancing on the surface of the sea are an immense source of inspiration.
meaning of bahuja
Bahuja, translated from the Postira dialect, means “pig.” It symbolizes a relaxed, lazy procrastinator. The term bahuja was often used by mothers to call out their children for “bahuja-like” behavior. “Ni me voja” is a favourite Bahuja saying, which translates to “can’t be bothered.”
